It is with great sadness that the Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame and Basketball Manitoba announce the recent passing of Paul Granovsky. Paul was an important member of the 1950 and 1951 Winnipeg Stellars Junior Men's teams, National Champions in consecutive years.
They were inducted into our Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame in 1983 and 1984 and set standards for excellence and sportsmanship that have become legendary over the years. Paul also taught and coached in the St. James School Division for many years, most notably at John Taylor Collegiate where he coached the Varsity Girls for many successful seasons.
Paul was a big man with a big heart, and he will be missed. Our sincerest condolences are extended to his family and friends.
