From 1927 thru 1937, Rosa was on of the most dominant basketball player in Manitoba. She was an excellent playmaker and a consistent high scorer. Rosa started her basketball career playing for Robertson Memorial Church. In 1931, she was instrumental in forming a junior team sponsored by Robertson Memorial, and led the Robertson Memorial "Olympias" through an undefeated season to win the City Junior Championship. She continued her winning ways in the intermediate and the senior leagues, ending her playing days by leading the Dominion Business College Senior "A" Team to win the City and the Provincial Championships in 1937.
