A graduate of King Edward High School in Vancouver, George moved to
Winnipeg in 1919 when he with the St. Stephen's Senior Sunday School
team. He joined the "Toilers" in 1920 and played with them through to
1932.
While playing basketball, George was a member of the Canadian
Amateur Basketball Association and was responsible for the formation of
the Manitoba Amateur Basketball Association in 1926.
