In 1930 with the help of other women, Edith organized the Winnipeg
Women's Basketball League for senior teams. The teams were the
Y.W.C.A., the University of Manitoba "Varsity", the Tigerettes, and
Great-West Life. The winner of the League played Brandon for the
Provincial Championship.
In 1931, the Junior League began, to be followed by
Intermediate, Senior "A" and Senior "B" sections. It was Edith who was
the driving force behind the growth of women's basketball in the
province.
