Terry Garrow, a native of Montreal, came to the University of Manitoba in 1984 after attending St. Pius X High School in Ottawa. For three consecutive years, 1986, 1987 and 1988, he was selected as a GPAC (Great Plains Athletic Conference) All-Star and in 1988, he was named a CIAU/CIS All-Canadian. In that season, he averaged 22.9 points and 5 assists and 5 rebounds per game. He was a three-time Wesmen Classic All-Star and the MVP in 1987.
He was a member of the Bisons team which captured a bronze medal at the CIAU/CIS National Championships in 1985. After completing his university career, he went on to play professionally with the Winnipeg Thunder of the World Basketball League.
