From the mid 1930's thru 1972, Martin coached basketball teams in
church, high school, junior and senior leagues. He started coaching the
varsity girls' team at Isaac Newton in 1934, 1935, and 1936, winning
two City Championships. From 1949 thru 1951, Martin coached the
Winnipeg "Stellars" that won consecutive Junior Canadian Championships
in 1950 and 1951.
