Les, or "Lefty" as he was more commonly known, was a member of the championship St. Andrews Super Saints Senior Men's teams in 1964-65, 65-66, 66-67 and 67-68. He set seven Greater Winnipeg Senior "A" Men's Basketball records - most points in a league game - 76 ; most points in a play-off game - 45 ; most field goals made in a league game - 30 ; most field goals made in a play-off game - 18 ; most free throws attempted in a season - 133 ; most free throws made in a game - 16 and most free throws attempted in a game - 21. He was originally from Chicago, Illinois and, after high school joined a Catholic religious order (Marianists). He came to Winnipeg to teach and coach at Provencher High School (Louis Riel Collegiate) in 1964. After leaving Winnipeg, he was assigned to other schools in the United States and has also served in Peru, Chile, India and Rome.
