Florence first played basketball at C.G.I.T. at Parkview Methodist Church (later St. James United). A born leader, she developed into one of the finest centres in Manitoba throughout the 1930's until the mid 1940's, when she retired. As a member of the Dominion Business College "Dominions", Fjola led the team to four Provincial Championships in 1937, 1938, 1939, and 1940.
