Dave was a basketball referee, coach, and administrator. His greatest
contribution, however, was as an administrator. He joined the Winnipeg
Junior Men's Basketball League in 1953, serving first as
Secretary-Treasurer, and then as President until 1958. He was President
of the Manitoba Amateur Basketball Association from 1954 to 1958. From
1958 until 1962, he served as President of the Canadian Amateur
Basketball Association.
