A graduate of John Taylor Collegiate, Angie played for five years at the University of Winnipeg. In her first year in the 1971-1972 season, she was instrumental in the "Lady Wesmen" winning both the Manitoba
Senior Women's and the Canadian Junior Women's Championships. Angie was a League All-Star and the Most Valuable Player at the National Junior Championship Tournament.
The next year, the "Lady Wesmen" started playing in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). In each of her remaining four years, Angie was a first-team GPAC All-Star. In three of those years, she led her teammates to Conference Championships (1974, '75, and '77).
Angie's university career was interrupted in 1975 - 76, when she spent the year with the Canadian National Team to train in Halifax for the 1976 Olympics in Montreal. For several years before and after the Olympics, Angie, as a member of the National Team, competed in the World Student Games, Pan Am Games, World Championships and toured Europe, Latin America,and China.
After graduating from the U of W in 1977, Angie played in the Senior League for ten years. During that time she was a perennial All-Star and MVP.
